Information You Submit
A name, location, or other term entered in a search box is transmitted to the third-party provider operating that tool. Mercer County Released Inmates does not store or log those search terms on its own systems. Review the provider's policy before submitting information.
If you send an email or contact-form message, we retain the message and contact details as needed to respond. We do not share that correspondence outside the organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Technical Data and Cookies
Routine server, analytics, and advertising systems may collect technical details when a page loads:
- Internet Protocol address;
- browser name and version;
- device type and operating system;
- pages visited and time spent on them;
- the referring site, when available; and
- date and time stamps.
Cookies and similar technology help measure how visitors use the site. Browser controls can reject or remove cookies, although some features or partner services may then work differently.
How Information Is Used
Collected information may be used to keep pages available and responsive, send a search request to the selected provider, understand which content is useful, diagnose errors, prevent misuse, reply to messages, and display advertising that may reflect inferred interests. We do not use site data to make official custody or release decisions.
External Sites and Advertising
Links may lead to Boyle or Woodford jail rosters, Mercer court resources, Kentucky corrections pages, federal locators, and commercial search services. Once selected, the destination's privacy policy controls its collection and use of information.
Advertising providers may use technology on their own systems to recognize activity across websites and select targeted advertising. Mercer County Released Inmates does not control those outside tracking practices.
Parties That May Receive Data
We do not sell personal information. Limited information may be available to search partners processing a submitted query, analytics providers measuring traffic, advertising networks delivering ads, service providers supporting site operations, or law enforcement and government bodies acting under a valid subpoena, court order, warrant, or other lawful demand.
Security Has Practical Limits
Reasonable administrative and technical practices are used to protect information in our control. No internet transmission, connected service, or storage method is completely secure. We cannot promise that unauthorized access, loss, interception, or another security incident will never occur.
Visitors Under Eighteen
The site is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from anyone under 18. A parent or guardian who believes a minor submitted personal data may use the Contact Us page to request review and deletion.
Your Privacy Choices
Subject to applicable law and the ability to verify a request, you may ask for a copy of personal data we hold, correction of inaccurate data, deletion, or an opt-out from certain processing. Browser controls can also limit cookies. These requests apply only to information controlled by this site, not records held by Mercer County, Kentucky agencies, or outside providers. Kentucky's Open Records Act, KRS Chapter 61, governs qualifying public-agency records and does not turn this private site into a public agency.
Changes to This Notice
This privacy notice may be revised as services or legal requirements change. A new version takes effect when posted here with its updated effective date. Continued use after posting means the revised notice applies to later activity.
